The Hispano Round Table is an umbrella organization or coalition composed
of most the national and state Hispano or principally Hispano
organizations and associations in the state of New Mexico such as the
American GI Forum, MANA, IMAGE, LULAC, CLER, the Hispano Round Table of
Las Vegas, etc. and labor unions such as the AFL-CIO, AFSCME and others
and is a broad based coalition which has been active in New Mexico for the
past 12 years dealing with issues such as equality, parity,
discrimination, civil rights, affirmative action, education, etc. relative
to the Hispano community. We have a 9 member Board of Directors and have
a general membership meeting once a month on the third Wednesday of each
month at the New Mexico Business Resource Center located at 700 4th
Street, S.W., in Barelas, Alburquerque, New Mexico with the Board meeting
taking place in the Apollo Meeting Room at 5:00pm and the General meeting
taking place in the Challenger meeting room at 5:30pm.
In order to solicit membership, an organization simply writes a letter
requesting membership in the Hispano Round Table via our mailing address
(or via facsimile or electronic mail, and you have those contact numbers
above) at Post Office Box 27217, Alburquerque, New Mexico 87125-7217,
andthe request is considered at the next general meeting of the
organization. Each member organization is permitted 3 representatives and
first year membership is set at the rate of $50.00 per year and membership
is at the rate of $25.00 per year thereafter for member organizations to
be in good standing. The Directory will provide more detailed membership,
representation and attendance (for voting purposes) requirements.
Your organization should contain a large Hispano constituency.
