| CHÁVEZ-CARR-Edwin Chávez-Cut, 16, left this world for his heavenly home on Saturday, October 18, 1997. He is survived by his mother, Juba 0. Chávez-Carr of Alburquerque, his father, Gerson Carr of Ohio; sister, Melanie; half-sisters, Cheryl and Laura; half-brother, Ari; cousins, Bernadette, Stella, Eloy, Georgia, Candi Mae and Daniel; uncles, Mike Chávez and wife, Tomi, Greg Chávez and wife, JoAnn, Joseph Chávez and his favorite, uncle David and aunt, Celina. Edwin was particularly appreciative of the help and support of his Uncle David and his wife, Celina. He often mentioned the trip they had taken together. Edwin loved his uncle David and looked on him as a father. He was a member of B'nai Israel where he had been Bar-Mitzvah'd and earlier this years, confirmed in his faith. Edwin was an honor student at Alburquerque High School. He was a varsity letterman in Football and Wrestling. Edwin also participated in JROTC, MESA, and other numerous activities. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at Congregation B'nai Israel, 4401 Washington NE, with Rabbi Isaac H. Celnik, and Cantor Josh Perlman officiating. Interment will follow at B'nai Fairview Memorial Park. | Honors will be provided by the Alburquerque High School JROTC. Pallbearers will be Eloy Chávez, Daniel Chávez, Ray Guierra, Chris Schatz, Michael Tepper and Kurt Hinterbichler. Honorary pallbearers will be Rabbi Isaac H. Celnik, Cantor Josh Perlman, Greg (G.G.) Chávez, David Chávez, Joseph Chávez, Mike Chávez, Norman Kasser and the Alburquerque High School Varsity Football Team. A memorial service will also be held Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. at Congregation B'nai Israel, 4401 Washington NE. Family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Congregation B'nai Israel Pre-School and Religious School, 4401 Indian School Rd. NE, 87110.
