Things to try when the eLibrary Web page (http://elibrary.unm.edu) is out of service, connect to:

• Try the Alternative QuickLinks above
• eJournal Finder can be used to access electronic journals.
• eJournal Finder can also be used to access many of our eResources/databases, select the BROWSE RESOURCES button in the BROWSE TYPE box select DATABASES BY NAME you can enter in the 1st letter of a database, such as A for Academic Search Premier. You can then use the A-Z list to locate other databases.
• Research Databases & Indexes (using the proxy "menu" as the RD & I page)

Things to try when LIBROS is down:

• WorldCat (our code is IQU)
• Open WorldCat
• Library of Congress
• LibDex (library catalog and vendor index)

Things to try when the remote proxy service is down (these will only work from on the UNM campus network)

How to remove the proxy prepend...(these resources will only work from on the UNM campus network)

• eResources are directed to go through the proxy when the proxy prepend appears in front of the eResource URL. If you are on a UNM on-campus network connection you can remove the proxy prepend from the URL and use that link.
  • Get a URL, one way is to connect to eJournal Finder, and search for a journal or database.
  • Right click on the link that you would like to use (for example, "Cambridge Journals Online") and select "Copy Link Location"
  • Open up Notepad on your PC. Paste the link into Notepad. It will look something like this: http://libproxy.unm.edu/login?url=http://journals.cambridge.org/jid_flm
  • Remove the following from the beginning of the link: http://libproxy.unm.edu/login?url=
    (Note this is the proxy prepend)
  • Paste the remaining link into your browser. If you are on campus, it should recognize you as being at UNM and let you into the journal/database.

Things to try when you have problems with web services/pages, includes problems with LIBROS searching, access to eJournals, databases, etc.

• clear browser cache
• clear cookies/history/etc.(cookies should be turned on)
• reboot your workstation
• try a different browser to see if the problem is browser specific
• you may need to adjust your network/firewall settings

Things to try when you have problems with PDF files:

• save the PDF to your desktop/PC (usually can be done via a "right-click/save as") and try to open the file from your PC (not within your browser)
• make sure you are running the most current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader
