Research Interests:
Over the past few years, most of my research has been focused on investigating the effects of exercise on obesity and insulin resistance. I am interested in understanding the effects of acute and chronic exercise in the insulin signaling pathway in skeletal muscle tissue. Recently, we have finished a study where we examined the effects of high intensity interval training (HIIT) in intramuscular insulin signaling using obese subjects. Other research interests include the effects of cold water immersion on exercise recovery and heat exposure in occupational physiology.

Special Interests:
My hobbies include practicing several sports, such as playing soccer, volleyball, swimming and running. I was learning saxophone in Brazil and I want to continue playing here in Albuquerque. I have a 7 years old soon that keep me very active and busy. He loves to play sports in general and ride his bike. My wife and I love to travel.
