Water Resources Program, UNM Leslie R. Kryder has been a graduate student in the Water Resources Program since Fall 2006. She is enrolled in the Policy and Management track and is pursuing a minor in Community and Regional Planning. She was recently inducted into the Tau Sigma Delta Honor Society in Architecture and Allied Arts. Educational Background Leslie holds two degrees from Northwestern University, a B.A. in Computer Studies and an M.A. in History. She spent her junior year abroad with the Hamilton College program in Madrid, Spain. In 2007, Leslie worked part-time for the Joe M. Stell Water Ombudsman Program at the Utton Transboundary Resources Center at the UNM School of Law. She is interested in jurisdictional issues of water allocation and the water-energy nexus. Professional Background Leslie currently holds a contract doing historical research on water issues in the Rio Grande Project for Em Hall. Prior to returning to graduate school, Leslie worked in the Information Systems field for over 20 years. She specializes in web and database application development with interests in GIS. She is owner and president of Leslie Consulting, LLC. Facilitation Leslie works as a facilitator, having served as part of the facilitation team for New Mexico First on several occasions, including the February, 2006, town hall Sustainability: A Town Hall on Albuquerque's Energy Future. Other Interests Since 2004, she has studied voice, and has enjoyed singing in various choirs over the years. Leslie writes the H2OE blog, reflecting on water and energy from a variety of perspectives. She manages the H2O-L listserv, intended for water professionals in New Mexico. To join the listserv, send an email to H2O Manager. She is a member of the New Mexico Soil and Water Conservation Society. She speaks Spanish and has lived in South America and Spain.
