What's the difference between LOBOCA$H, Dining Points, Meal Plans, and Student Accounts?
Several types of accounts are accessed through your Lobo Card, but each one carries a separate balance. Just as your ATM card
can access both your savings account and your checking account, your Lobo Card can access your LOBOCA$H account, your
Dining Points account, your Meal Plan, and your Bursar's Student Account.
LOBOCA$H is a discretionary spending account which can be used to make purchases across the University.
Meal Plans are purchased by campus residents to eat at the La Posada cafeteria in an "all you can eat" food court.
Dining Points are similar to LOBOCA$H. They can be used to purchase food or goods from campus food vendors and convenience
stores.
Student Accounts are managed by the Bursar's office and are used to charge tuition and fees, housing expenses, parking
permits and various other fees. Financial aid, scholarships, and
other payments are credited toward this account. Your Lobo Card may be used to access you student account, but is not
required. If you would like for residual financial aid or scholarship dollars to be moved into your LOBOCA$H account, this
can be done only at the main Cashier's office at Student Services.

Can I pay for tuition with LOBOCA$H?
No. Although your Student Account is accessible through your Lobo Card, it is not linked to LOBOCA$H. There is no mechanism
with which to allow a LOBOCA$H balance to pay for tuition or other fees on your student account.
Can I turn scholarship or financial aid funds into LOBOCA$H?
Not directly. Your Student Account is not linked to LOBOCA$H. The Cashier's office can work with you to make arrangements
to transfer monies from your student account into your LOBOCA$H account.
Can I get a refund of my LOBOCA$H?
If you have a valid reason for requesting a refund, such as graduation, withdrawal, or termination of employment, you can
get a refund of the LOBOCA$H that remains in your account. Go to the Lobo Card Office to fill out a refund request. If
approved, your refund will be processed through the Cashier's Office, and you will be issued a check (after any balance at
the Cashier's Office is settled). See the Terms and Conditions for more information.

Can I reactivate an old card once I have received a replacement card?
No. Payment of a replacement fee constitutes authority for the de-activation and deletion of the missing Lobo Card from
UNM's card database. Once that deletion occurs, the old Lobo Card can never be reactivated.
Do I have to renew my Lobo Card every semester?
No. The card is valid upon admission to UNM; it is issued once and is active upon a student's enrollment in the current
semester. The Lobo Card remains valid for the duration of a student's college career and it activates and deactivates
automatically according to the student's enrollment status. The Lobo Card has no expiration date.
Do I need to pay a replacement fee if my ID was stolen?
Not necessarily. Stolen cards should be reported to the appropriate law enforcement agency. A copy of the police report or
the police case number must be provided to the Lobo Card Office to obtain a replacement identification card for free.
Anyone filing a false police report is subject to disciplinary and/or criminal charges.
Can I get a new Lobo Card if I changed my name or social security number?
Yes. A few days after a student reports the name/number change to the Records and Registration Office, the new information
is available to the Lobo Card Office. Bring the original Lobo Card to the Lobo Card office for a free replacement with this
new information.
