Ongoing, UNM’s Maxwell Museum, "North by Southwest: Bering Sea Communities, Collaborations and Collections." The Maxwell Museum is open Tuesday through Friday from 9am-4pm and Saturday from 10am-4pm.

Ongoing, UNM’s Jonson Gallery, 1909 Las Lomas NE, The Jonson Gallery will mount a memorial exhibition in honor of Florence Miller Pierce, one of New Mexico's most remarkable modern artists, known for her elegant, luminous cast-resin paintings." Pierce passed away on October 25, 2007. She was 90 years old and the last living member of the Transcendental Painting Group. Jonson Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday 10am-4pm and by appointment. The Gallery is free and open to the public.

Law School Lecture: Philip Schrag: Asylum Adjudication Description Philip Schrag, a prominent law professor at Georgetown University, will report on a study he conducted with two colleagues into the asylum adjudication process. Members of the State Bar of New Mexico may earn 1.5 professionalism credits for attending the lecture. Cost is $29 in advance or $39 at the door. The lecture is free if not attended for credit. Henry R. Hertzfeld, George Washington University, will discuss “Who Owns the Moon?” Tuesday, Feb. 5, noon-1:30 p.m. in the University of New Mexico Student Union Building Luminaria Room. Hertzfeld is a research professor of Space Policy and International Affairs at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University. He is an economist and an attorney who has specialized in research and teaching on legal and economic issues of space and high technology industries.
