Four hundred undergraduates prepare to present research

More than 400 students are signed up to present research papers, posters and performances based on research they are conducting in the Undergraduate Research and Creativity Symposium scheduled for Nov. 22, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Student Union Building. All sessions are free and open to the public.

“A Computational Approach to Navajo Verb Conjugation,” “Advertising to the Invisible Race: Contemporary Marketing in a Biracial America,” “Remote Control of Multiple Robots Using Bluetooth,” “Effects of Sun Exposure on the HiC1 Gene in Skin,” “La Mariposa Monarca: Butterflies and Change in Mexican Culture, Society and Environment,” “Malnutrition in Nigerian Patients on Chronic Hemodialysis” are only a sprinkling of the scope and variety of the presentation.

“This is an amazing display of the diversity and depth of undergraduate student achievement at UNM,” says University College Dean Peter White. The symposium is meant to show the college and the local community just what university students are capable of when they put their minds to it.

The symposium will include oral presentations, discussion panels, poster presentations, live performances and short films.
