Civil Engineering offers Master's in Construction Management Degree

A new program at the University of New Mexico is designed to meet the demand of non-engineering construction professionals who would like to earn a master's degree. The Master of Construction Management program in the UNM Civil Engineering Department was created specifically for construction professionals with a non-engineering degree in a related field.

The program is designed for working professionals with courses scheduled late afternoons, weekends and online. Much of the course focus is on practical issues and industry professionals teach classes. Few prerequisites are required for enrollment. Students may attend full or part time to complete the 32-35-credit requirement.

Professionals who are encouraged to enroll in the program include general or specialty contractors, construction suppliers or distributors designers in engineering or architecture and others.

Applications are now being accepted for spring semester.

Information about the program is available by contacting Dr. Gerald Rounds at (505) 277-3658. Information is also available online at: http://civil.unm.edu/mcm.htm.
