Anderson Schools to host pre-election debate on minimum wage ballot initiative

On Tuesday, Oct. 4, Albuquerque voters will have the opportunity to decide on an increase in the local minimum wage to $7.50 an hour. The proposed increase, which has sparked considerable debate in the Albuquerque business community, will be the subject of a discussion hosted by the ASM at the University of New Mexico.

Participants in the forum include City Councilor Martin Heinrich, UNM Economics Professor Melissa Binder, UNM Business Professor Allen Parkman and Jerry Easley, chair, Albuquerque Employment Growth Initiative.

The free, open public forum will be held Tuesday, Sept. 27, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the UNM Continuing Education Auditorium, 1634 University Blvd., N.E.
