The University of New Mexico School of Engineering is organizing the Forum for Sustainable Energy for the Future, Friday Oct. 6, noon to 6 p.m., in the UNM Student Union Building. The event will bring together UNM faculty and experts from the national laboratories and private sector to speak about addressing the future demand for energy.
Scheduled presentations include:

· Environmental Quality and Energy Security: A Global Vision for Nuclear Energy, Michael Cappiello, manager, Advanced Fuel Cycle Program, Los Alamos National Laboratory
· Powering the Hydrogen Economy: Fuel Cell Technology, a New Mexico Perspective
· Plamen Atanassov, assistant professor of Chemical and Nuclear Engineering
· Wind: An Energy Solution for Now and the Future, José Zayas, manager, Wind Energy Technology Department, Sandia National Laboratories
· A Solar View of Energy Sustainability, Chet Boortz, vice president of business development and James Gee, vice president and chief technology officer, Advent Solar
· Solar and More: Rediscovering the UNM Mechanical Engineering Building, Andrea Mammoli, associate professor, Mechanical Engineering
