UNM's Monica Cyrino on History Channel Oct. 12

Monica Cyrino, associate professor of classics in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures in the UNM College of Arts and Sciences, will be featured Thursday, Oct. 12 on the History Channel program, “Where Did it Begin?” airing at 6 and 10 p.m. MDT. The History Channel is located on channel 46 on cable.

Cyrino, who is also a UNM Presidential Teaching Fellow, was filmed in the Los Angeles Colisseum, “a bad spelling of the real Roman Colosseum,” she said. She discussed how ancient sporting events were much like modern football games. “I talked about the crowds, the food, the fans, the athletes and more,” she said.
