Thomson Receives NEH Research Fellowship

ThompsonIain Thomson, associate professor of philosophy, received a 2007 NEH research fellowship to work on Heidegger: A Philosophical Biography. He was one of only seven philosophers selected to receive this prestigious fellowship. Thomson is an authority on the German philosopher Martin Heidegger (1889-1976). Heidegger is considered one of the most original and important philosophers of the 20th century.

Thomson is California educated – undergraduate at UC Berkeley, master’s at UC San Diego, some graduate work at UC Irvine and his doctorate at UC San Diego. He came to UNM in the fall of 2000.
