UNM Hosts Summer Navajo Linguistics Workshop

The UNM Navajo/Diné Language program hosts the Navajo Language Academy 2008 Summer Linguistics Workshop, July 7-25. The three-week event is attended by students and educators from Navajo-serving institutions.

Featured courses include: Structure of the Verb (Leonard Faltz); Teaching the Navajo Language (Irene Silentman); Language Acquisition (Maya Honda and Wayne O’Neil); and Research Projects (Ted Fernald, Paul Platero and Peggy Speas).

The Navajo Language Academy represents people working together since the early 1970s to further the goals of Navajo language scholarship and to strengthen the position of the Navajo language at all levels.
