Polly Anderson

Polly Anderson has more than 20 years experience in marketing and communications, brand management and media. Her experience includes tenure in the for-profit sector in marketing and communications, and in the non-profit sector in management, marketing, development and public relations.

She began her public broadcasting career in 1996 as Director of Corporate Support for WUFT TV & FM, the public television and radio stations at the University of Florida. In 2003 she accepted the position of Vice President of Development and Marketing for the statewide network, Alabama Public Television, and in 2005 accepted the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of KWBU, the community licensed public television and radio stations located in Waco, Texas.

Anderson is very involved in the public broadcasting industry, currently serving as Chair of the PBS Foundation Station Advisory Council. Additionally, she is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Association of Public Television Stations (APTS), and a member of the Executive Committee of the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA).

Anderson serves on the PBS Board’s Task Force on Corporate Support, is a member of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB)’s Small Station Advisory Panel and is a member of the Board of the Small Station Association. She has been a participant in both phase one and phase two of CPB’s Major Giving Initiative, and has successfully completed implementation of many CPB grants, including Digital Distribution Fund grants, a Small Station Strategic Planning Initiative grant and a CPB Public Awareness Initiative grant.

Anderson is a member of the Rotary Club of Waco, serves on the Allocations Committee of the United Way of Central Texas, is a board member of Keep Waco Beautiful and a board member of Avance Waco, a local social service agency serving Hispanic mothers of children ages birth to three.

Anderson received her BA in Business Administration/Marketing from the University of South Florida in Tampa in 1983, and currently resides in Waco, Texas.
