iLearning Focus of UNM Bookstore Presentation

iLearningMark Salisbury, author of, iLearning: How to Create an Innovative Learning Organization, will present at the UNM Bookstore Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. In his book, he addresses how to increase the productivity of knowledge work and knowledge workers, which, according to Peter Drucker, this is the most important goal that organizations and individuals can pursue in the 21st century.

“The most contribution that management needs to make in the 21st century is to increase the productivity of knowledge work and knowledge workers. It is their productivity, above all, that the future prosperity -- and indeed future survival – of the developed economies will increasingly depend.”
– Peter Drucker

Increasing the productivity of knowledge work and knowledge workers is especially relevant in a down global economy. In realizing iLearning, organizations will be able to do more with fewer people. In applying iLearning principles, individuals will make themselves more valuable to their own organizations and more attractive for employers looking for new talent.

iLearning shows how organizations can implement learning systems in a collaborative, comprehensive, and systematic way. iLearning organizations can also improve their processes -- and most important -- organizations that embrace iLearning can more accurately anticipate new challenges and plan strategically for innovation.

Dr. Mark Salisbury has an extensive academic background in economics, computer and information science and education. Professional experience includes working for a large aerospace company and successfully founding and running a high tech startup company. He is currently an associate professor at UNM where he teaches courses and conducts research in the way organizations create, preserve and distribute knowledge. As a result of his experience, he is a leading expert on preparing individuals, groups and organizations for success in the new knowledge economy.

Mark Salisbury will present a talk and sign copies of his book at the University of New Mexico Bookstore on Wednesday, February 18th at 2 pm. This event is free and open to the public.
