Ceramic Conch (56.8.28)
Colima, Mexico
Aerophone
The conch, a natural marine snail shell, has long been used as a horn for signaling and ritual in many coastal cultures.  This conch is a prehistoric piece that is unusual because it is a representative piece made from clay, and not the real shell.  It is attributed to the Tarscan people of Michaoacan, Mexico.
