Research Presentation Information
The 4th Annual University of New Mexico Research and Leadership Conference provides an excellent opportunity for undergraduate Scholars to present their research in an academic setting. During the conference, Scholars will present their research before an audience of peers, faculty, graduate students, staff, family and friends.
Deadline for presenters to submit an abstract is September 15, 2010.
There will be one Poster Presentation session on October 7, from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. Presenters will need to bring their posters with them to the conference. Poster set up will begin at 11 am in the Student Union Building Atrium. Posters must be picked up by 4:00pm.
Oral Presentations will be held on October 8, from 9:15am – 5:00 pm. All presentations will be held at the University of New Mexico Student Union Building. Each presenter will have 12 minutes to present their research with 3 minutes for questions and comments immediately following. Each session will consist of 2-4 presentations. Evaluation forms will be issued to audience members and faculty panel during sessions and will be given to each presenter following their session.
All PowerPoint Presentations (for use during the Oral Presentation sessions) MUST BE BROUGHT to the conference registration on individual USB flash-drives. Presenters should bring their external USB to the registration desk on the evening of October 6, or in the morning registration on October 7, 2010.
Presentations should use the following file name format: LastName_FirstNameFinalv1.ppt
This format allows uniformity in the presentations. Please check your presentation before the conference to ensure it operates properly. Some concerns in the past have shown that embedded audio and video components in files have had difficulty opening. Web access will be available to use as part of the Oral Presentations. All presentations need to be compatible with the 2007 version of Microsoft PowerPoint. If you need speakers, please let us know.
Please do not forget to bring your presentation!
