The University of New Mexico invites you to participate in its Second Annual Ronald E. McNair Research Conference and Graduate and Professional School Fair. This year’s conference theme, Soar to New Heights, Explore the World of Graduate School, echoes the hope and encouragement Dr. McNair had for individuals pursuing their dreams of higher education. While the theme supports the goal of McNair scholars, conference events and activities will provide them with the opportunity to explore options related to graduate programs at various universities and colleges. Workshops will address graduate studies requirements, funding opportunities, and things to consider regarding out-of-state programs, and UNM’s Graduate and Professional School Fair will provide one-on-one contact with numerous colleges and universities from across the country. Conference participants will also experience the Land of Enchantment’s diverse cultural landscape, from the breathtaking views of the Sandia Mountains to the colorful and unique-shaped balloons of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. A Saturday morning excursion to Albuquerque’s International Balloon Fiesta is included as part of the registration packet. This year’s conference promises to be a key event for scholars preparing for take-off to graduate school.
Registration includes participation in UNM’s National Graduate and Professional School Fair, admission and transportation to and from Saturday’s Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, 1 continental and 1 breakfast buffet, 2 lunches, and a Friday evening banquet with Salsa dancing.
