The IMS and Albuquerque’s Outpost Performance Space are jointly hosting “The Healing Sounds of Ancient Turkey,” a concert of traditional Turkish music by internationally recognized musician Latif Bolat. The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, at the Outpost Performance Space, 210 Yale Blvd. SE. The concert will be preceded by a 6 p.m. slide lecture, “Messages of the Unseen: Sufi Music, Poetry, and Philosophy—A Brief Overview.” For further details, visit

Holiday Reception for Friends of Medieval Studies

The annual holiday reception for the IMS’s donors, the Friends of Medieval Studies, is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10, 5:30–7:30 p.m. in the Lobo Room of the UNM Student Union Building.
