While most modem advertize that they are "Hayes Compatiable", they often
fail to show where they are adding extensions to the basic command set.
To help correct that, here is a list of common commands that should work with
with any hayes compatible modem.
Except for the +++ command, all commands should be followed by a CR.

Return to Command Mode (modem recognizes hayes commands)

ATDP number
Dial the requested number using pulsed method for dial phones.

ATDT number
Dial the requested number using touch tone tone phones.
Note: If you have call waiting, add *70 before the number to be dialed.

ATE1
Enable local echo of hayes commands

AT&C0
Allow kermit hangup command to work

AT&F
Load factory configuration

AT&W
Save current configuration in modem's non-volatile memory

ATH
Force the modem to hangup the phone line

ATS6=5
Sets a longer wait for a dailtone.
Useful for voice-mail and other features that can cause you not
to get a dialtone at 1st.
