Without MSD crude tools must be used.
To use the mode command to determine which comports your machine has
issue the following commands:
MODE COM1:
MODE COM2:
MODE COM3:
MODE COM4:
Any com ports your machine doesn't recognize will respond to the mode command
with an "Illegal device name" message.
