Membrane trafficking is of general importance in cellular organization
and compartmentalization, in metabolic disorders, as well as in pathogen
entry, maintenance and replication. Our research broadly seeks to
characterize the parameters regulating membrane trafficking. One avenue
of investigation explores the regulation of endocytic and exocytic membrane
transport by the rab GTPases. A second active area of research addresses
questions pertinent to polarized exocytosis and the interplay of epithelial
cell differentiation in the development of renal disease.
