Autism Spectrum Disorder

ABA Resources:
This site is devoted to providing ABA resource materials to children involved in an ABA program. Although ABA programs are used primarily for children with autism, ABA is a successful intervention for the "neurotypical" and the special needs population, provided through the public and private sectors.

Beyond Autism
Beyond Autism is a site by a parent that has "been there, done that, and still doing it". This autism site contains over 2,700 working links to other resources and is a comprehensive source of information for those of you just starting out - to help you move "beyond" the label of autism - somehow we all have to do that no matter how difficult it is... I have included many links on teaching methodologies, education and "special" education resources, IEP information, augmentive and communication assistance with assistive technology information, disability legal information, sensory dysfunction issues, specialized catalogs, behavior problems and much more!

LD Online is the world's leading web site on learning disabilities and ADHD, serving more than 200,000 parents, teachers, and other professionals each month.  LD OnLine seeks to help children and adults reach their full potential by providing accurate and up-to-date information and advice about learning disabilities and ADHD. The site features hundreds of helpful articles, multimedia, monthly columns by noted experts, first person essays, children’s writing and artwork, a comprehensive resource guide, very active forums, and a Yellow Pages referral directory of professionals, schools, and products.

Dyscalculia.org provides a wide range of information on math learning disabilities (dyscalculia) and dyslexia.  The information contained on the site is relevant to students, parents and professionals who have an interest in math or reading learning disabilities.

Council for Exceptional Children
The Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) is the largest international professional organization dedicated to improving educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities, students with disabilities, and/or the gifted. CEC advocates for appropriate governmental policies, sets professional standards, provides continual professional development, advocates for newly and historically underserved individuals with exceptionalities, and helps professionals obtain conditions and resources necessary for effective professional practice.

The Circle of Inclusion Web Site is for early childhood service providers and families of young children.  This website offers demonstrations of and information about the effective practices of inclusive educational programs for children from birth through age eight.
