~Congratulations!
The faculty and staff of the APS/UNM Partnership in MR & SD would like to extend sincere congratulations to
Tiffany Otero, Sharon Head and Amalia Tomlinson, all of the 2006~2008 cohort, for having poster session proposals accepted for the 132nd Annual Meeting of the American Association for Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in Washington, D.C. May 28-30.

Upcoming Program Events
:
The faculty and staff of the APS/UNM Partnership Program in Mental Retardation & Severe Disabilities are dedicated to providing relevant and timely professional development opportunities to all program participants.  Throughout the academic year, the APS/UNM Partnership Program presents topical workshops, information about upcoming Albuquerque Public School professional development opportunities, and workshops designed to instruct Intern teachers in Special Education best practices.

Topicals:
In an effort to provide effective and relevant support to the Intern teachers, the APS/UNM Partnership Program Resource Teachers, faculty and staff present short topical information sessions throughout the academic year.  The topics and content of these sessions is designed to address and support the needs and challenges Intern teachers encounter in their classrooms.  Interns are provided with applicable and relevant strategies, support, and resources that can be immediately implemented in the classroom.

APS/UNM Partnership Program Annual Recruiting Event

In the spring of each year, the APS/UNM Partnership Program in Mental Retardation and Severe Disabilities hosts an informational event for individuals interested in applying to the program.   Program alumni and current program participants are invited to attend and are encouraged to bring individuals interested in the program.  During the evening, The Sarah Price Award is presented to a program alum.  The award is given to a former intern teacher who is demonstrating extraordinary leadership in the field of education.
