Welcome to the Miss Indian UNM Website!

Gu-wa-zee (hello) my name is Monika Honeyestewa. I am an enrolled member of the Pueblo of Laguna. In addition to my Laguna heritage, I am also a part of the Hopi Tribe and Sac & Fox Nation. My father is Stephen Honeyestewa and my parents are Randy and Annette Whitmore.

Currently I am a senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. My personal and professional goal is to continue my education and eventually earn a PH.D. in School Psychology. My objective is to enlighten other minority students to continue to direct attention to higher education, promote mental well-being and revitalize interest and participation in cultural activities to enhance its importance.

As MIUNM I intend to compel students to give their communities a voice to sustain cultural identity.

Da-wa-eh! (Thank you!)
