Membership is open to full time students only. Membership is $25 per semester, to be paid to club treasurer, Tiffany. Being a member entitles you to the following:

- Inclusion in club excursions;
- Access to club equipment;
- Lots of contacts for your outdoor activities;
- Discounted membership rate at Stone Age Climbing Gym in Albuquerque
- Right to vote in club elections;
- Plenty of outdoor fun!

The Mountaineering Club accepts students of all experience and ability levels.
Instruction is given throughout the semester to give members the skills needed to participate in club trips.

There are two types of trips taken by the club: Training trips and Club trips.

Training trips are arranged by the training officer and have a specific goal of teaching members one aspect of mountaineering (usually top-roping, sport climbing) If you have never climbed and wish to try it out, the first top-rope training trip is free.

Club trips are arranged by the officers about 1 or 2 times a semester. Members participate in a wide variety of activities, usually climbing, but also hiking/backpacking, camping, snowboarding/skiing, white-water rafting, canyoneering, etc.

Also available are member-led trips, in which members plan outdoor excursions.
