Miguel de León: "Gabriela is in her
best moment, I've already had mine."
In our offices, actor Miguel de León confessed he doesn't feel
jealous of his wife, Gabriela Spanic, because she's professionally at
her peak at this very moment and he's, for now, "on standby".
The Venezuelan actor Miguel de León hasn't appeared on the small
screen in a leading role ever since he last starred with Natalia
Streignard in the telenovela "Sol de Tentación". We saw
him not too long ago in "La Usurpadora" from Mexico with his wife
Gabriela Spanic as the female lead. It was a role with some weight
in the drama but whose appearance was fleeting nonetheless.
For that reason, we wanted to know if Miguel had obtained the part in
"La Usurpadora" because Gabriela had put in a good word for him with the
Mexican producers. "No, it was never like
that. When she was in Cancún, the producers started
saying to me: 'You must think you're it because you won't
accept what we're offering you.' And it was like a joke. I
later realized that yes, they were offering me the part. I thought
it was interesting because this is a story that will be airing in
Argentina, Brasil, Chile and some Asiatic countries. That's why I
accepted," reflected Miguel.
For now, there is nothing in the horizon jobwise in the Mexican market
for the 32 year-old actor, who in the beginning, was going to replace
Saul Lisazo in "Vivo por Elena". He later auditioned to be
Lucía Méndez's leading man, but
"they didn't like me because I looked too young to be her leading man.
That's why they chose Omar Fierro, who also has a more mature
appearance."
That's when Miguel confessed to us he doesn't feel professionally
jealous of his wife, Gabriela Spanic, "She's in
her best moment and she has to take advantage of it. I already
had my moment here in Venezuela and I might be in vogue again.
Time will tell," maintained Miguel.
De León feels he would gladly accept work in a Venezuelan project if
they were to make him a good offer moneywise as well as timewise so he
could travel to Mexico to meet with Gabriela. According to Miguel,
living alone in Mexico with only Gabriela has taught him to count on her;
and their relationship has solidified even more... because ever since
they've been married, they've lived in a foreign country where they don't
have their families. Besides, he assured us, they've never had an
argument big enough that would've considerably affected their
relationship.
