- His name is Televisa's favorite name for a children's series.
- From all appearances, the Venezuelan actor will be the
leading-male
star in the new version of "Carrusel", a dramatic
project that will
debut [on Mexican television] in May.
The actor Miguel de León and his wife, Gabriela Spanic, are two
of the most successful Venezuelans in the land of the Aztecs.
Both --with juicy contracts that have sustained them with all the comforts
of life, over the course of four years, in a luxurious residence in the
Mexican capital-- have managed to make a name for themselves amid that
difficult market... and have managed, in spite of the intense
competition, to be regarded as the top choices of the moment for
starring in new dramatic projects.
Despite the fact that Gabriela Spanic's exclusive contract with Televisa
has already ended, her husband still has one year left [on his contract].
Reason to believe that the actor will be the star of a new
version of "Carrusel" --a series that is being readied by the most
important television network in Mexico.
There was some speculation, at first, that the actor himself would
turn down this important role being offered to him because his wife was
about to sign a contract in Colombia --to do a starring role-- and he
didn't want to be separated from her.
But now, after better thinking it over, the actor appears likely to
accept the offer --an offer that will convert him into one of the
leading-men of the telenovela tentatively named "¡Vivan Los
Niños!" ("Long Live the Children!") and that will start airing in
mid-May in Mexico.
If able to reach a monetary agreement, this will be the fifth
telenovela that the actor has participated in, since arriving in Mexico.
As we recall, his first on-screen appearance was in "La
Usurpadora" in 1998. After that, he had the opportunity to
demonstrate his talents in "Gotita de Amor" in 1998, followed by "Nunca te
Olvidaré" in 1999... and lastly, he was the leading-male star in
"Carita de Ángel" in 2000-2001, one of his biggest successes in
the land of the Aztecs.
