• Bounded delay and delay variance.
  • Especially for video and other signals that carry real-time information, the maximum effective interruption allowed. A user might specify that there be no gap between packets long enough to interrupt or freeze live video.
  • Throughput.
    • The amount of data to be transmitted in a specified time period. A user might specify that a terabyte of data be moved within ten minutes.
