• ES-IS - End System to Intermediate System

  • This protocol describes how ESs communicate with ISs in a connectionless environment. Used with CLNP (Connectionless Network Protocol)

• IS-IS - Intermediate System to Intermediate System

  • Intra-domain routing protocol. This protocol describes how routers communicate with other routers in the same domain.
  • Intra-domain routing protocol

• IDRP - Inter-Domain Routing Protocol

  • This protocol describes how routers communicate with routers in different domains.
