Network Management (Cont.)
- Fault management. Alerts operator when error thresholds are exceeded and suggests corrective action.
- Problem management. Tracks the status of problems from the time they are detected to the time they are fixed.
- Performance management. Collects statistics from managed devices, stores historical data and analyses them for network planning, tuning and trend analysis.
- Accounting management. Monitors use of the network by user, identifies the associated costs and produces bills for resources used. May or may not be needed.
