Case Study - UNM - vBNS & Internet2 (Cont.)
The National science Foundation (NSF) initiated in 1996 a High Performance Connectivity Program to fund connectivity to the Very High Bandwidth Network Service (vBNS).
UNM has been funded for vBNS connectivity and will be connected via a DS3 line to nearest vBNS connection point at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR).
In the future, New Mexico State University will also have vBNS connectivityvia UNM.
