NPR: Client reports an intermittent problem where people in Bandelier ^ West occasionally can't connect to network [no such host type ^ messages]. It started to happen around the time Earth Data Analysis ^ moved in. His email addr is tree@unm.edu. STATUS:

Client reports that 3rd floor of Scholes is seeing different speeds ^ when transmitting files off their floor. Putting files onto a ^ off-floor host is much slower then getting files from an off-floor ^ host. STATUS:

Si@Clark Hall [Chem] has a dumb terminal on port 22-77-1180 that ^ gives the mesg 'socket in use' when he tries to telnet to hosts. ^ Probably needs the port reset. RESOLUTION:
Tried to telnet to TS and got no response. Went and physically ^ reset terminal server. Then telneted in and tapped the line to ^ check it. Then called user and verified that their terminal was ^ working again. Closed. JL.

Jeanette@1001 Univ. SE is having trouble with network connectivity. ^ Just after she reboots PC, things work ok, but rapidly slowdown to a ^ halt. Clay from Help Desk pinged her IP 129.24.66.231 and gets a ^ sporadic response. She is in rm 116 of suit STATUS:
COMMGRP visited client on 3/20/98 and noted the following: Problem wasn't occuring at the time of our visit. Client noted that only she was having this problem in the department. There were no obvious cable problems at the workstation or zone hub side. I will continue to monitor this issue into next week before I close it. Not really sure of problem at this time. Gary@Bookstore called up to say none of his computers [including the ^ registers] are coming up. He is schedule to be open at 0800. Couldn't ^ give me an IP number for me to ping but did ping the router and that ^ came back fine. RESOLUTION:
Was able to ping and telnet to all units in the bookstore. ^ User had a hung process on their server. Reboot of server ^ took care of the problem. Closed. JL.
