DESCRIPTION:
Reports slow response between printing plant and Hokona, where the ^ server is located STATUS:
I spoke with Robert E. Sanchez, (Plant Superintendent) and his computer staff on 6/2/98 and they noted the network response time was fine. I would like to get with Steve Allison, (on vacation this week), before I close this out to make sure there isn't another problem. Cliff/COMMGRP 6/9/98 Steve Allison called me back to report the response time is pretty good at this point in time. He was going to make some further checks and let me know where we finally stand on this problem. Cliff/COMMGRP 6/11/98 Steve Allison called back to note his clients at Printing Services can submit data, (printing estimates) between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and it takes about 15 seconds to complete. He then noted this same transaction takes about 4 to 5 minutes during the afternoon, (between 1:30p.m. and 5:30 p.m.). Steve stated he would continue to look into this issue however, he wanted to pass this information on to us too. Cliff/COMMGRP

DESCRIPTION:
Network had her change Net interface card...she did this and still ^ having problems...she wishes to speak with tech on call.please call ^ her.Network at KNME is down STATUS:
6/16/98 During the S/A to reset the MMAC-8 hub I discover 2 faceplates that were improperly terminated. Clients in these rooms had a thin-wire "T" with a 50 ohm terminator directly off the face-plate connected to another thin-wire "T" with 50 ohm terminator off the back of the network card. One of these connecttion was "daisey-chained" to another workstation. These problems were corrected and the hub was reset. I monitored the network for about 30 minutes and there was no sign of any CRC errors, ( a definate improvement). The only problem we are currently seeing is "Hardware Receive Mismatch Errors", (when packet length received by the hardware and the length specified by the packet do not match). I also deployed one of our sniffer probes to futher diagnose this problem. Cliff/COMMGRP.
