DESCRIPTION:
He has been having this problem since November, was paged last week ^ and Derek did not get a responce back. He would like to talk with ^ someone in the networking group. He has been having many people drop ^ off the server connections. mjr STATUS:
Cliff and I installed a 350 switch and repatched all the PC's in the lab on 8-5-99. Will monitor the connections when they return on 8-16-99. More to come MAJ : Cliff and I talked to Derek on Friday 8-27-99 and informed him that we replaced the hub with a switch. He said that his MACS were still randomly dropping connections. We explained that the traffic within his classroom was isolated if the MACS were just using the server within that classroom. Our next step is to take a MAC over there and attach it to one of the ports within the classroom and monitor this connection. more to come 8-30-99 MAJ. We installed a MAC and Derek experienced the same symptoms. I informed Derek that he needed to take a look at his NIC card in the server. He changed the NIC on 10-15-99 and I moved all the connections back to the shared hub. We will monitor to see if the NIC replacement resolves the problem. MAJ

DESCRIPTION:
Network reported down between main campus and los alamos. Betsy ^ Allander at cashiers said the whole site is down. STATUS:
I logged into the router at Los Alamos and saw a success rate from 20% to 80%. After about 15 minutes the circuit stabilized and I was able to get 100% success rate. I talked to Paul and he indicated that there was a congestion problem on the frame relay cloud and that he has a meeting with people at TVI on Friday 12-3-99. I called Anthony at Los Alamos and gave him an update. more to come

DESCRIPTION:
Many hosts in zones 2 and 5 started comming down at 21:46. Beeped ^ netw group STATUS:
hosts/zones started comming up at about 22:00. Started going down again at about 23:00. I logged onto the routers at Cirt and EECE and found that slot 5 at EECE was still down so I reset slot 5. After the routers stabilized, the command center paged me again saying they couldn't see anything when logged into mirac. I had the same problem so I reset slot 6 on the Cirt router (subnet 16) and brought this connectivity back on line.I saved the log files and will get with John and send these files to Bay tech support as this is an ongoing problem. more to come
