DESCRIPTION:
Slow response time between Valenica and Main Campus. Using a custom ^ application STATUS:
I've been running ping scripts to the router at Valencia for over a week now with very good response times. I cleared the counters on the router and also checked the interface resets (none recorded) and found this unit to be functioning properly. I talked to Randy (4-7-99) and he said that he will get some information from the clients at Valencia on Monday 4-12-99 as he will be going there to setup some machines. I also let Randy know that we will be upgrading the Valencia router hopefully within the next couple weeks.

DESCRIPTION:
when this server[129.24.157.200]tires to ping outside and has a ^ sinificant problem getting out of the gateway [129.24.152.1] STATUS:
I talked to Gene Lott and he indicated that his dial-in clients are having problems getting to a mail server (bia.edu) in Denver. Traceroutes show a slowdown between MaeWest and a doi network. It also indicates that it's using the vBNS route to reach its destination. I contacted engineers from vBNS and they are currently working on the problem. I called Gene and gave him an update. more to come

Biology is experiencing network slow downs. Karl Malivik [lan Admin ^ for Biology] has determined it is not a Novell issue. He inidcates ^ 'someone is generating trash on the network.' HD-MC STATUS:
Could not find any unusual problem on the network. Problem seems to be primarily a ACCESS DATABASE problem. User will have the database compacted to see if that resolves the problem and then contact us with the results. JL 5/10/99. Angela Battle is trying to get into Netscape from her mac pc at home ^ but gets a message the server is refusing Netscape. STATUS:
Call was taken by command center. Talked to operations and transfered the problem to the help desk, they will follow up with the user. I called and left a message on the users answering machine and told her that she more than likely had a config problem, I told her that for further help on a problem like this she needs to contact the help desk. Social Science Bldg [Political Science] has no network access. I ^ tried pinging 129.24.202.135 and 129.24.200.1 and .2 Not getting ^ response from either. HD-MDC STATUS:
