DESCRIPTION:
He has been having this problem since November, was paged last week ^ and
Derek did not get a responce back. He would like to talk with ^ someone in
the networking group. He has been having many people drop ^ off the server
connections. mjr
STATUS:
Cliff and I installed a 350 switch and repatched all the PC's in the lab
on 8-5-99. Will monitor the connections when they return on 8-16-99. More
to come MAJ : Cliff and I talked to Derek on Friday 8-27-99 and informed
him that we replaced the hub with a switch. He said that his MACS were
still randomly dropping connections. We explained that the traffic within
his classroom was isolated if the MACS were just using the server within
that classroom. Our next step is to take a MAC over there and attach it to
one of the ports within the classroom and monitor this connection. more to

Microsoft Peer-To-Peer network stopped working between eece.unm.edu ^ and
the unm.edu subdomains. Worked up till end of week of 8/20/99

that EECE was moved (on 8/19) to the TCP only gigabit backbone, which does
not support the NetBEUI protocol.
