The fastest nerve fibers conduct at about 100 meters/sec or about 220 mph.  These fibers carry information that controls muscles and about the positions of these muscles.  The slowest fibers conduct at about 1 meter/sec or a nice walking speed of about 2 mph.  These fibers carry information about painful stimuli.
