“When I first enrolled at New Mexico Highlands University, I was very lost and felt like I would not be able to do this on my
own. The staff at Student Support Services was able to show me everything I needed to know to survive in college.
They were able to give me some enlightenment and show me that anyone can succeed, all they need is a little motivation and the will
to accomplish anything.”
Steven M., NMHU Student
"The Eastern staff has helped me a lot through my college year and towards my academic goals. I have worked with wonderful women in the distance education dept. and they have helped me by giving me words of wisdom, advice and encouragement."
Nathan G., ENMU-P
"The assistance I have received from TRiO is immeasurable! I received assistance in getting credit for past training and experience; creating a resume; finding class substitutions; free admission to cultural and artistic events; unwavering support in my abilities, along with friendships."
Cheryl Holloway, TRiO student at Santa Fe Community College
The New Mexico Higher Education Staff Association (NMHESA) was founded in 2006 to bring together the staff associations of the higher education schools in New Mexico to discuss the issues that effect staff members state-wide.
Our next meeting is to be held at one of our founding members, on the beatuful Western New Mexico University campus in Silver City. This Tuesday meeting will start at 10:00am. We'll be discussing the 2009 Legislative Session and our meetings with other groups.
