Department Name

Brief Self Biography – I did my undergrad hard time at Rensselaer Polytech in upstate New York; to counterbalance four years of lake effect snow I migrated to New Mexico, which has four times the solar irradiation per year (on average).  I like good things and hate bad things, as is proper.  Sports that require height but not coordination are great, like ultimate Frisbee and volleyball.

Research/Research Interests Description– Bio/Nano interfaces, silica chemistry, extra fancy nanoparticles (shape/size control), particle/film characterization, and the computer modeling of all of the above.  Here is a pretty picture of a cracked silica film which is a good memorial to the many samples I make that die young.
