NYSP The Right Start

 

 

In 2008 the National Youth Sports Program at the University of New Mexico will once again provide a free sports program for youngsters of the community.

The National Youth Sports Program (NYSP) has combined sports instruction with exciting educational programs for youths ages 9-14. (You must be 9 by August 31 to participate.)


 

PROGRAM DATES

JUNE 5- JULY 2

PHYSICALS & REGISTRATION

JUNE 3RD -4TH

JOHNSON CENTER 8:30am.-12:00pm

We have NO buses, if funds become available,

bus schedules will be available at registration

Participant Orientation

 

 Activities:

Swimming, tennis, basketball, soccer, new image rugby, softball, and football (flickerball).

Education Program Includes:
· Alcohol and other drug -abuse prevention
· Nutrition and personal health
· Career opportunities and job responsibilities
· Higher education and community concerns

 

 

 Physicals:

A Physical is required to Participate.
Physicals take place in Johnson Center from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. June 3rd & 4th. NYSP will also accept physicals from your own doctor or a Community Health Center. Physicals must be no older than 10 months.

Program Hours: 7:45am. --- 12:00pm

Monday ------ Friday

Program Dates: June 5th ---- July 2nd.

I am a good sport at all times and conduct myself with decency and honesty.  I do my best to get along with others and have pride in myself.  I put forth my best effort in all competition and always compete fairly.

NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED BY MAIL.

All applications must be brought to Johnson Center on registration- physical days

Materials will be mailed to last years' participants the first week in May.

You may also pick up materials at Johnson Center starting in May,

or download them from this site.
