Tenure Track Position in Public Finance
The Department of Economics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2008. This is a probationary appointment leading to a tenure decision. A Ph.D. in economics by the time of appointment is required. Candidates must have a specialty in Public Finance. The successful candidate will teach in the graduate theory core sequence. Preference will be given to candidates who possess solid quantitative or empirical analysis skills and who demonstrate strong potential for excellence in research and teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates with interest in state and local policy issues or research interests complementary to resource/environmental economics, labor/health economics, development/international economics or issues specific to the Southwest are encouraged to apply. For best consideration all application materials must be postmarked by November 30, 2007. The position will remain open until filled. Each applicant must submit a signed letter of application, vita, at least two letters of recommendation, a statement of teaching and research interests, evidence of teaching proficiency and a writing sample.
