2002 Cultural Explanations for Breast Cancer Screening by Hispanic Women. Principal investigator, John Oetzel. The purpose of the project was to investigate the influence of cultural factors for breast cancer screening and communication preferences for breast health information by Hispanic women. 1-year award, $2,693. 2007-2009 Languages and Internationalization across curriculum: Health and cultural integrity. Principal investigator: Cynthia Radding. The purpose of this project is the develop new curriculum to provide strong international components in health, cultural diversity, and communication. This is an interdisciplinary effort involve Latin American Studies, History, Linguistics, Anthropology, and Communication and Journalism.
