For Fall 2009, Shih-Kuei Wang is one of our visiting scholars from Shih Chien University (SCU) in Taiwan. His visit is sponsored by the National Science Council in Taiwan.
In 2002, Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. from the Department of Engineering Science and Ocean Engineering at National Taiwan University. He has worked as a programmer and research member at the Research Center for Psychological and Educational Testing at National Taiwan Normal University. In addition, he was Assistant Professor at the Department of Communications Design at SCU.
His current post is Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Simulation and Design at SCU. Dr. Wang's teaching and research interests are centered on design problems in interactive multimedia. Some of his recent work includes a virtual heart design for nursing education, designs for games about Taiwanese aboriginal culture, and game design for children to learn about flowers.
From July to December, 2009, Dr. Wang is providing guest-lectures in OLIT classes. The OLIT faculty welcome his participation in faculty meetings, and enjoy discussion and contributions in shared research areas. To continue these enriching interactions, Dr. Wang would like to explore further collaboration possibilities between UNM and SCU for mutual benefit to students and faculty.
