For those who are affiliated with UNM, but don't meet student, faculty or staff requirements, there is still a way you can benefit from the fitness programs at UNM. The Rec Services Card is available in these cases, for a small fee.
Did you know there are little adventures planned to locations all around New Mexico for UNM students, faculty and staff?
The Johnson Center facilities are located on UNM's main campus, directly across from PopeJoy Hall and adjacent to the SUB. There is also a new Weight and Exercise room in the Basement of the SUB.

Presently the pool is being renovated, but is schedule to reopen in January 2009. Call the Pool Manager to for an update at 277-5980.
If you'd like to join in on a team sport, there are teams in flag football, soccer, slow-pitch softball, volleyball, badminton, basketball, golf, tennis, to name a few. Most activities are free to join.

You are not required to have insurance to go to SHAC, but it's recommended to help keep your health costs down while you are a student.

Avoid a ticket! There are parking permits available if you have an appointment, just ask for one at the front desk when you check in.
The Walk-In Clinic is staffed by MDs, mid-level providers (physician assistants and nurse practitioners), and nurses.
From time to time we all need a little support. This service provides UNM students with psychological and psychiatric services to help function successfully in their academic lives. Contact is 277-4537.
The UNM Pharmacy is the only pharmacy on campus for the exclusive use of UNM students, staff, and faculty. They fill prescriptions from all licensed practitioners. Contact them at 277-6306.
Did you know if you have the student health insurance (Plan A), you qualify to receive two 1-hour body massages each semester? Fall, Spring & Summer! There are also chair massage sessions available. Make an appoinment by calling 277-3136.
