OLIT Undergraduate Admissions

Admission Requirements

  • Earned AAS degree in an approved technical discipline
Or
  • Completed approved program of studies demonstrating a specific technical emphasis
  • 2.5 GPA overall

Admission Procedures

Individuals seeking admission into the Technology & Training, 2 + 2 Program, must adhere to the following procedures:

  1. Technology & Training applicants meet with Bruce Noll in EOB 213 of the College of Education building and supply an official transcript for evaluation. This occurs prior to admission to UNM. (An unofficial transcript is sufficient to discuss transfer of courses.)
  2. An official transcript is to be sent to Dr. Noll, who will process the Transcript Evaluation form and forward it to the UNM Admissions Dept. and Diane Trujillo, Academic Advisor in the College of Education. Have the official transcript sent to:

  3. After the Transcript Evaluation form has been received in the College of Education Advisement Center, the applicant meets with Diane Trujillo in Hokona Hall to obtain a College of Education Application Packet.

  4. The applicant completes the College of Education Application Packet and submits it to the College of Education Advisement Center.

  5. Upon review of all forms, the applicant will be notified in writing concerning official admission to UNM/COE/Technology & Training.

    Note: To be admitted into the Technology & Training Bachelor of Science Program, a technical AAS degree or a technical certificate program must be completed with a minimum 3.0 GPA in the technical major. In addition, the applicant must have earned 18 hours of approved Arts and Science courses with a 2.5 or greater GPA.

    If less than 18 hours of approved Arts and Science courses have been completed, the applicant must:

    a. Proceed through regular UNM Admissions to complete the required 18 hours of Arts and Science courses in the University College, or,

    b. Complete 18 hours of approved Arts and Science courses from a community college and transfer these courses into UNM.
