Ivan

Originally from Mexico City, but raised in Albuquerque, Ivan Olay considers himself a “late bloomer” when it comes academics.  After graduating high school he took a brief time off before attending and graduating from UNM.  While attending UNM, he was very active in the establishment of a fraternity and feels that played a vital role in his graduation.  Working as a staff member of the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP), he has been able to positively influence and educate young people from low-income backgrounds, and has been instrumental in recruiting standout CAMP alumni to become tutors for incoming students.  Ivan feels that being involved in the fellowship program will compliment his pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, and will help him gain knowledge about the programs and missions of Student Affairs departments.
