Pulling It All Together and Getting Real Students to Really Discuss
Many teachers construct collaborative or individual activities intended to help students integrate course content with learning objectives, but sometimes neglect the crucial follow-up discussion that pulls concepts together for students. This workshop will discuss methods by which teachers can lead more effective discussions after such activities and present specific techniques for getting a variety of students to engage in such discussions with each other, rather than with only the teacher, and beyond the allotted class time. Participants will leave with strategies that they can immediately implement in their classes.
