The purpose of the workshop is to move instructors beyond using WebCT as simply a place to post syllabus, student grades, and links to readings and lecture notes. While the potential is almost limitless, the workshop focuses on simple things that you could start using next semester to move your WebCT site beyond just being an organizer or supplement for the course. Participants will see how their course websites can be a real enhancement that is fully integrated with what you do during class in ways that improve student learning. The workshop introduces strategies for developing a learning-activity sequence appropriate for your course that links what students do outside of class with what they do during class time. Workshop participants will experience the learning-activity sequence before, during, and after the actual event through a special WebCT site.
